Cameroon – Education: The NGO Plan Cameroun partners with the Ministry of Secondary Education to promote girls’ education

The two parties signed a partnership agreement on August 18, 2020 in Yaoundé.
Miriam Beneda Castenada, the resident representative of the NGO Plan International in Cameroon and Pauline Nalova Lyonga, the Minister of Secondary Education, want, through this agreement signed last Tuesday, to promote quality education for girls as well as the improvement of health care provided to learners. Clearly, within the framework of the said agreement, the Non-Governmental Organization will encourage young people to attend secondary school, improve the quality of education and life in schools, professionalize teaching and improve training.

“The Minister of Secondary Education declared that cooperation between the public-private sectors is a priority of his ministry. She welcomed the partnership with Plan International Cameroon for the good of children, particularly young girls,” we read in the columns of Cameroon Tribune on newsstands on Thursday, August 20, 2020. As for Miriam Berena Castenada, she revealed that in the as part of the aforementioned partnership agreement, Plan International will also support the government in the fight against violence in schools, gender equality and inclusion, as well as the care of children in conflict zones .
